DraftLight

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 25, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of DraftLight (“DraftLight,” “we,” “us”), a cloud-based screenwriting and pre-production tool available at draftlight.app. By creating an account or using DraftLight, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Your account

You need an account to use DraftLight, created either with an email/password or by signing in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. One account per person — don't share credentials or create accounts to evade a suspension or a plan limit.

2. Your content

Everything you write, upload, or create in DraftLight — scripts, drafts, revisions, comments, breakdown data, location photos, budgets, and every other piece of project content — is yours. We claim no ownership over it. By uploading content, you grant DraftLight a limited license to store, back up, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you and anyone you choose to share it with (collaborators, share-link recipients).

You're responsible for what you upload. Don't upload content you don't have the right to use, or anything illegal, infringing, or abusive. Location photos and panoramas in particular are your own uploads — we don't review them before they're stored.

3. Collaborators and share links

You can invite collaborators to a project and set their role (Owner, Editor, Viewer), and generate share links that grant view or edit access to anyone who has the link, no account required. You're responsible for who you invite and who you share a link with — anyone holding an active edit link can change the script. Revoke a link any time from the script's Share panel if you no longer want it active.

4. Plans, billing, and free-tier limits

DraftLight offers a Free plan and paid Solo/Studio subscriptions. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing; cancellation stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current billing period — we don't offer partial or prorated refunds. We may change plan pricing with notice; changes apply at your next renewal, not retroactively.

The Free plan is limited to 2 projects, 2 scripts per project, and 250MB of image storage (avatars, location photos, and panoramas). These are live limits, not lifetime ones — deleting something frees up the corresponding slot or storage. Solo and Studio remove the project/script caps and raise the storage limit; see the pricing page for current details.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe on their own hosted pages — DraftLight never receives or stores your full card number.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use DraftLight for anything illegal, or to store or distribute content you don't have rights to.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts or content.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service without our permission.
  • Circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or account suspensions.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Availability and backups

We run nightly database backups and take reasonable steps to keep DraftLight available and your data intact, but we don't provide a formal uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. Back up anything irreplaceable on your own if that matters to you — the same way you would with any hosted software.

7. Ending your account

There's no self-serve account deletion yet — email support@vidaptic.com to close your account, and we'll delete your data per our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, with notice where practical.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

DraftLight is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DraftLight isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data or lost work, beyond direct damages capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continuing to use DraftLight after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
